A Tale of Two Mommies

Our little tale of two mommies includes both sadness and joy. Pixie, our newest addition to our cattery, had two kittens who sadly died right around the same time that Seraphina had her kittens. Pixie was restless and searching for her kittens, which was very sad to watch. But, as soon as Seraphina went into labor, Pixie was literally there by her side, and immediately helped cleaning off each kitten, keeping them warm while Seraphina had the rest. Seraphina had a large litter ~ 6 kittens ~ so what a blessing that these babies basically have had two moms to help them grow big and strong. Each kitten has gotten double the love. The mommy cats even take turns, so they each get a break. It is like they are working in shifts ~ very funny to watch. Another neat thing to mention is that Pixie is Seraphina's daughter, so what a precious bond they share with one another. We just wanted to share this little story, as it has been very cute to watch unfold, and a great lesson of how sorrow can turn into joy.
